Veterans Assistance Program

Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity, is pleased to announce a funding program for minor home improvements for veterans.

We have recently initiated a new program designed to help veterans with their housing needs, particularly as to repairs under our Brush With Kindness program. Thanks to the generosity of the Board of Directors of Turner House, which has gone through a dissolution process, we are the beneficiary of funds which we can use primarily for veterans. Our home repair program focuses on exterior minor repairs that make a home safer, healthier and more accessible. Among other minor repairs, we build ramps so folks can get home and stay home safely. Applicants must:

  • Have lived in Northern Berkshire, or Stamford, VT for at least one full year prior to the application date.
  • Own their own home.
  • Earn no more than 80% of the Median income for Northern Berkshire.
  • Be Honorably Discharged.
